5 Now the prophet Gad said to David, “Do not stay in the stronghold; depart, and go to the land of Judah.” So David departed and went into the forest of Hereth.

“22:1-4 | David’s great-grandmother Ruth was a Moabitess (Ruth 4:13-17) and the king of Moab warned against Saul (14:47), so Moab was naturally a place for David to seek refuge for his family.’
’22:1, 2 | Samuel had warned the people that a king would tax the people and make use of their resources for his own work (8:10-18). It is possible Saul had levied a heavy tax upon the inhabitants of Israel, and that many of these victims—in debt and discontented and in distress—decided to join David when they heard that he was in exile. What does this November 23, 2023 Thanksgiving mean to me:
Praise and thanksgiving to my LORD-GOD that He woke my Queen/Wife up this morning; that He blessed us to see her hair stop falling out; that He kept all the other side effects far from my Queen; that He blessed us with family and friends that love on my Queen; that He blesses us with favor wherever we go and with whomever we interact with:
That our LORD taught us and then taught us how to raise our children in the admonition of the LORD our GOD and because of His blessings on and in us, He has blessed our house;
