“18:46. Jezreel was located between Megiddo and Beth-shan about 17 miles from Mount Carmel. Elijah probably served as an outrunner for the king, a privileged position in the ancient Near East. Despite his frequent condemnation of Ahab, Elijah had a genuine concern both for God’s testimony and the soul of the king.
