Good morning beloved of YESHUA CHRIST JESUS. Beloved, there is a professional law enforcement officer that I would like to lift up. He has distanced himself from me, since we moved from Cleveland; since beginning this ministry and/or since restating my testimony of; from whence my LORD-GOD brought me from: however, that does not deter from the fact that he was and still is a professional law enforcement officer for the city of Cleveland, Ohio and I still consider him a friend and have not distanced myself from him. Amen.
Beloved, that I show no disrespect toward him, I will just call him “Smitty”. Beloved, Smitty and I both worked permanent nights and when we were quiet, not having any runs at the base I was stationed at, while at Cleveland, EMS, I would call Smitty to find out where he was at and what he was up to.
I remember I called Smitty one time at 3:00 am and his then, girlfriend, now wife, asked him who was calling him at 3:00, he said, “Oh, that’s Shep, wondering what I’m doing, we both work permanent nights and talk a lot.”
Beloved, Smitty loved him some Linda. Amen. From the time he met her, till the time we left Cleveland, Smitty showed my wife much love and respect.
My baby had fallen in the house, putting a picture up or something she was doing on a stepstool and had sprained her wrist. I was working in our 911 center, calling her one summer day to check on her, a few weeks after her fall, and couldn’t get her on the phone, so I called our squad near her and called Smitty.
She called me and asked why I sent Doug, he was a close friend, and on the squad near our home, and Smitty? She tells me she’s outside doing yard work and here comes a Cleveland EMS squad, telling her “Hey Linda, Shep’s trying to call you, sent us to make sure you’re ok” then, here comes a Cleveland Police cruiser saying, Linda, Shep’s calling you, wanted us to make sure you’re ok.
My wife was trying to act like she was embarrassed while at the same time, her voice revealed the love she got from our EMS family, and from Smitty.
Beloved, Smitty rode a motorcycle like he was a professional. He informed me about a group or guys he grew up with that were all professionals, who were starting a riding group. I joined, because Smitty told me about it, and most of the members were either Cleveland Police, EMS, or Fire. We had attorneys, several entrepreneurs, we were all about the same age, and all cared for each other; they named our group the “Urban Knights”.
This was the best group of guys I’ve been involved with and the only time I have ever belonged to a motorcycle group because again, it was mostly law enforcement officers, Firefighters, and EMS, with other professionals; it was a very blessed time in our lives, oh, did I mention that my Queen had/has her own motorcycle? Beloved, when we would ride on the highway, these gentlemen would join me in surrounding my Queen, as she was still learning to ride and it was powerful to see the love and respect these gentlemen had for my Queen. Amen.
If beloved, you ever get an opportunity to talk with a professional law enforcement officer, firefighter or EMS personnel, you will get to know a very humble, loving person, who will probably surprise you with the love they share. Amen. They truly are a rare group of people. Amen.
Beloved, Smitty had a heart that was bigger than the city of Cleveland, and, like my brother Wayne Bush, taught firearms training. Smitty beloved, is a true professional, didn’t care your color, race, gender, or any other excuse you could come up with, if you broke the law, you had to deal with Smitty. However, beloved, even then, he extended much grace to help in whatever way he could, inside the law. Amen.
Beloved, I still have much respect and love for Smitty and continue to pray my LORD’S blessings of protection, grace, and mercy over and into his life. Amen. Amen?
Beloved, let us continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Savior and LORD-YESHUA CHRIST JESUS, as He reveals Himself to us, in the life of our man of GOD, “King David”. Amen. For beloved, through our man of GOD, “King David”, we know our LORD-GOD is faithful to His children. Amen.
